Damaris Diaz
President & Founder
Damaris Diaz is the president and founder of BxProtects. She has 30 years of combined experience in law enforcement, corporate security, and public safety and relations.
Ms. Diaz founded BxProtects in 2022 to address the security needs of her hometown, The Bronx. With rapid developments and investments in historically underserved and at-risk communities, she seeks to offer effective and robust security solutions to ensure the continued support and advancement of her community.
Prior to founding BxProtects, Ms. Diaz accumulated nearly 30 years of experience in the practice of safety and security. As the Head of Security for the nation’s largest Hispanic-led nonprofit organization, she directly oversaw the physical security programs for more than 30 high-risk properties throughout New York state, including affordable, supportive and transitional housing, as well as integrated medical facilities for psychiatric and chemical dependency rehabilitation programs.
Ms. Diaz relies on her experience and connections with the New York City Police Department (NYPD), where she served dutifully for 20 years. Retiring as a Sergeant Special Assignment, Ms. Diaz held key assignments in the NYPD’s Housing Division, Community Affairs Bureau, Tactical Training Unit, Dignitary Protection, and Intelligence Bureau.
Ms. Diaz is a recognized expert in police affairs and community relations, having formed and built close-ties to Bronx leaders over the course of her career. She has counseled local leaders in government, law enforcement, and the private sector, and continues to be a sought-after resource in her community.
